Herder-Institut - Für diese jungen Vietnamesen begann im September ebenso wie für Studenten aus 50 Ländern ein einjähriges Studium am Leipziger Herder-Institut. Von erfahrenen Pädagogen (auf unserem Foto Ines Bünemann, Lehrerin im Hochschuldienst) werden die Ausländer auf ein Hochschulstudium in der DDR vorbereitet. Seit 1951 absolvierten etwa 18.000 ausländische Studenten das Institut der Karl-Marx-Universität und studierten anschließend an Hoch- bzw. Fachschulen. Im Studienjahr 1970-71 werden 500 Studenten ausgebildet, davon 130 aus Vietnam. Mit sehr starken Delegationen sind in diesem Jahr die SAR, Tansania, Mali, Thailand und der Sudan vertreten. Ziel der Ausbildung ist es, die Studenten mit Fach- und Sprachkenntnissen und mit einem philosophisch-materialistischen Weltbild auszurüsten.
